Cold Front

How delightful!  A cold front is moving into Tucson.  From last night:

I took some photos of it coming in yesterday evening:

Art: Satirical ($$$$$)

The NY Times T Magazine, in their Milan edition, featured, among others, Maurizio Cattelan and his La Nona Ora (The Ninth Hour).  (Yes, that’s the Pope downed by a meteor which crashed through the skylight.)   The second sculpture of his (Untitled) I got from google.

Unlike nature’s art shows, like that spectacular cold front, most modern artsy-fartsy shows give more insight into the depraved mentality of the artists than the subject of their art.

I admit that your vampire experience in Peru, as you told it, was very funny. On April’s Fool’s Day, I confess to having pulled some rather humorous tricks on friends and strangers. In art, I tend only to appreciate works which show exceptional technical skill and imaginative talent.

As an English Professor, I love the “Figures of Speech”. As much as I would like to own just one of Ms. Tosk’s figures, i have shared pictures of them to my students to help them experience the humor in the English language. It has worked for some, but other students just “DON’T GET IT” But that’s the beauty of ART.
